Privacy policy
1. Who we are
Slow Knit Studio is run by KFB Studio Jacobsen, Norwegian company registration number 930 518 336, Hønefoss, Norway. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

2. What we collect, and why
When you buy a pattern
We store your name, email address, billing address, what you bought and when. We need this to deliver the pattern and to fulfil our agreement with you. The legal basis is performance of a contract, GDPR article 6(1)(b).
Payment
Payment is handled by Shopify Payments. We never see your card number and we do not store it. We see that the payment went through, and the last digits of the card.
Delivering the pattern
The pattern is sent as a PDF by email through the app Digital Products. The app processes your email address and your order so that it can send the file.
The newsletter
If you sign up, we store your email address for that purpose alone. The legal basis is consent, article 6(1)(a). You can unsubscribe in every mailing, and the address is deleted when you do.
When you write to us
If you write to support, we keep the message and your email address so that we can answer and so that we can look back at the case if you write again.
Cookies
Some cookies are necessary for the shop to work, for example to remember your basket. Those are set either way.
For statistics we use Google Analytics, which tells us how many people visit and which patterns get looked at. Those cookies are only set if you agree in the banner. You can change your mind at any time, and you can delete cookies in your browser.
3. What we do not do
We never sell personal data. We do not use it for automated decisions that have legal effects for you. We do not buy information about you from anyone else, and we do not track you across other websites.
4. Who processes data for us
The shop is built on Shopify, which runs the storefront, handles payment, sends email and powers our support messages. Shopify is our data processor.
We also use:
- Digital Products, which sends the pattern to your email address.
- Flett, which transfers orders, customers and payouts to our accounting system, Fiken.
- Google Analytics, which gives us statistics about how the pages are used, and only if you have agreed.
Some of these systems sit outside the EEA, and those transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Beyond this we share data with no one, except where the law requires it, for example with the authorities.
5. How long we keep it
- Orders and accounts: five years after the end of the financial year, as Norwegian bookkeeping law requires.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Support: 24 months after the case is closed.
- Cookies: see the banner, which gives the duration for each category.
6. Your rights
You have the right to see the data we hold about you, to have what is wrong corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a machine readable format.
Where you have given consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing it does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.

If you believe we are handling your data unlawfully, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, datatilsynet.no.
7. Changes
If we change this statement, we update the date below. If the change matters, we say so in the newsletter.
